The Complex
Utah’s Complex concert venue is located near the Gateway in downtown Salt Lake City. It is a pit only concert venue, with multiple smaller venues in it. There’s two main stages that most concerts are in, but there’s five different venues people are able to book gigs in. The Grand is on the right side of the event center when walking in, and is the smaller of the main two stages. Rockwell is the other main stage on the left side when walking into the concert venue. Having multiple stages and venues in The Complex means sometimes there’s two separate concerts happening in one night. That being said, when arriving at The Complex concert venue, it is important to take notice of the many different lines that may be forming and figure out which one to go in.
Entry
The Complex has an interesting way of managing lines and orders to go into the venue. It isn’t necessarily a first in line = first in venue situation. The first people in the venue are anyone who has a VIP or meet and greet pass (if applicable). After that, premier parking has priority entrance. Then, people with the Complex’s Crew pass are let in, before finally the general public line is allowed in. That being said, even if you camp out or stand in line for hours to be in the front of the line, you may not get barricade.
The Complex Crew Pass
Not only does The Complex’s Crew Pass help you get into concerts before the general public line, but it also has other benefits you can get the more you attend concerts at The Complex’s Concert Venue. The first benefits start after going to The Complex and visiting the crew booth four times, and then the benefits continue to go up from that point, ending with free concert tickets. The benefits have changed every now and then, so I recommend checking what benefits there are for each level on the Complex’s Crew Pass page every once in a while.
If you’re interested in getting a Complex Crew Pass, then you’re in luck because it is quite easy to get. To sign up you will need to give your name and email address to a crew member at a Complex concert you’re attending. You can normally find a crew member walking the lines before a concert, with a tablet to sign people up. If you’re not able to sign up in line or don’t see a crew member, don’t worry, you can still sign up for a complex crew pass by visiting the crew booth once inside the venue. The booth isn’t there the whole show, just for the first 30 minuets after doors open, so be sure to go before the concert starts and not after.
Parking
Parking at The Complex Concert Venue isn’t available unless you pay for premier parking. Your other parking options are The Gateway parking, or street parking. If you are looking for free parking, then the best places to park are on the street along S 600 W, N 600 W, or W 100 S.
